Top Tips for Eco-Friendly Home Care
Living an eco-friendly lifestyle is all about making small changes that have a big impact. Even the smallest changes to the way you clean around the house can make a big difference and the best thing is there are so many swaps that are so simple.
So in preparation for the launch of our new Home Care Range (which will be any day now! We promise!) I thought I'd compile some top tips on eco cleaning around the house:
1. Choose Eco-Friendly Cleaning Products
  • Australian Natural Soap Company Multi-Purpose Soap: This 100% plant-based wonder is your go-to for eco-friendly cleaning. Its Lemon Myrtle scent freshens as it cleans, perfect for laundry, dishes, and general household tasks.
  • Australian Natural Soap Company All-Natural Soap Flakes: Made from pure plant-based soap off-cuts, these flakes are a zero-waste option for laundry and cleaning, offering a variety of scents and a gentle, effective clean.
  • Other Green Products: Avoid products with phosphates, parabens, and artificial fragrances that can harm aquatic life and pollute waterways.
2. Conserve Water
  • Fix Leaks Promptly: A dripping tap can waste a lot of water over time. Fixing leaks in your home is an easy way to conserve water.
  • Use Water Efficiently: When doing laundry or dishes, wait until you have a full load. This practice reduces the number of loads and the amount of water used.
3. Lower Energy Consumption
  • Wash Clothes in Cold Water: Washing your clothes in cold water saves energy by eliminating the need to heat water, and it's just as effective for most laundry loads, including those done with our natural soap flakes.
  • Air-Dry Laundry: Skip the dryer where possible. Air-drying clothes saves energy and reduces wear and tear on fabrics.
4. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
  • Reduce Packaging Waste: Choose products with minimal packaging, or go for those with packaging made from recycled materials. The Australian Natural Soap Company’s products, for example, come in fully home compostable packaging.
  • Reuse Containers: Reusing containers helps reduce plastic waste.
  • Recycle: Always recycle packaging when possible, following your local recycling guidelines. Or home compost the packaging if possible.
5. Make Your Own Cleaning Products
  • DIY Cleaners: You can make a variety of effective cleaning products using ingredients like vinegar, baking soda, and lemon. These natural cleaners are eco-friendly and can be used for a multitude of tasks around the home.
Remember, every small change contributes to a larger impact, leading us towards a more sustainable and eco-conscious lifestyle. Happy cleaning!
