This year we've donated another $11,000 to The Orangutan Project! And it's making a difference!
This year, we donated $11,000 to The Orangutan Project!!
In 2020 The Australian Natural Soap Company and our customers have contributed almost $11,000 to helping secure the survival of Critically Endangered orangutans in the wild.
And The Orangutan Project has just told us exactly how this money has helped them! So, we thought we'd share it with you, to give an update on what this year’s fundraising has gone to. We'd like to thank each and every one of you for your contribution - we couldn't have done it without you!
The Impact Statement This generous contribution has helped us safeguard and restore precious rainforest in the Bukit Tigapuluh Ecosystem, and resource 20 trained Wildlife Protection officers to patrol this 500,000 acre landscape day and night, combating a surge in illegal poaching and logging during Indonesia’s lockdown.
Within this habitat, you have also helped us safeguard the world’s most successful colony of reintroduced Critically Endangered Sumatran orangutans, who now thrive and breed in freedom.
This is also one of the last refuges of the Critically Endangered Sumatran tiger and Critically Endangered Sumatran elephant, who rely on the habitat you are helping to protect - not just for their own lives, but for the survival of their species. Thank you for being a part of this story!
Over the past year, your donations also contributed towards:
● Rescuing 49 displaced, orphaned and illegally held orangutans ● Resourcing 117 Wildlife Protection Rangers ● Carefully monitoring 357 rehabilitated orangutans who’ve been released in the wild ● Providing 213 young orangutans with care, rehabilitation and jungle school ● Releasing a further 51 rehabilitated orangutans - back into the protected wild!
A massive thank you from all of us at The Orangutan Project!
